Oak Plaza Hotels host journalists

Journalists and media owners  were hosted last weekend to a dinner by the Oak Plaza Hotels to acknowledge the support and contribution of the media to the success of the hotel group.

Both veterans and upcoming journalists from the print, electronic and wire service, including, the President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr Affail Monney, attended the function.

In her welcome address, the General Manager of the Oak Plaza Hotels, Ms Hazel Gumpo, said management was desirous to partner the media to take the hospitality industry to greater heights “as the hotel continues to redefine the standards within the industry”

“We continue to redefine standards by taking our corporate social responsibilities seriously. With our key focus on education, we work with AMSCO, the African Management Services Company, to ensure the training of our staff,” she said.

Ms Gumpo announced the appointment of a new Group Executive Chef, Duncan Wales, a new Group Food and Beverage Manager, Nahshon Matheka, and the new Chief Engineer, Nestor Atsunyo, all of whom come to the job with a wealth of knowledge in the industry for a much improved service.

The President of GJA, Mr Affail Monney applauded the Oak Plaza Group for their giant strides in the hospitality industry and pledged GJA’s readiness to partner them to promote the growth of the industry.
