He said it was important for graduates to be disciplined and committed in life adding that those key virtues would be an anchor for the future.

He encouraged the congregants to build inner strength and character, saying that “Life is full of difficulties and challenges that question your very existence, but believe me with commitment to purpose and hard work no obstacle will be too great to topple”.

Make positive change

Addressing graduands at the 49th congregation of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology, Mr Azumah who was an alumnus of the school noted that the world had challenges that would even make university education seem worthless.

But that, he said was up to graduates to choose if they wanted to be losers or winners adding that as humans they do have a choice to make the rest of their lives worthy.

Using his own experience in life, he mentioned that he lost his parents during his formative years and unlike most of the congregants that have their parents to educate and guide them, he had to fall on others.

But most importantly, he said he chose to make the best out of his situation saying “going to school was not easy,”

Be focused

Mr Azumah emphasised that life may not always be at everybody’s mercy, but then it was up to the individual to either accept what life throws at you or you choose to get what you want from life.

According to him, people needed to be motivated, inspired and have the drive to be focused.

Mr Azumah gave out some pointers as a road map to success on the journey outside campus life that involved such attitudes as humility, devotion to duty, hard work, the fear of God, honesty at work and Integrity.

Assuring the young graduands of a bright future, he made reference to leaders who have had low beginnings but because they lived such virtues became great leaders.

While encouraging the graduands to emulate positive leadership examples, he thanked the University faculty for the honour done him by nominating him as a motivation for the young graduates.
