Poor prices and lack of storage facilities affect farmers

Livestock, poultry and food crop farmers in the Ahafo-Ano South District of Ashanti have observed that poor prices for their produce and the lack of storage facilities affect their work.

They have therefore appealed to the government to ensure that good prices were offered for their produce and the provision of adequate storage facilities to enable them reaps profits.

It was aimed at equipping the participants with managerial skills to enhance their work and contribute meaningfully towards food security.

Mr Victor Owusu-Ansah, District Agricultural Extension Officer, said their work as agents was vital in agricultural production and urged farmers to heed their advice on modern methods of agriculture to improve their yields.
