President Mahama for Mauritius on three-day state visit
President John Dramani Mahama left Accra yesterday for a three-day state visit to Mauritius.
The visit will be an opportunity for the two countries to cement their bond of friendship and conclude trade discussions.
After bilateral talks today, the two countries will sign a number of agreements on bilateral cooperation.
These include an agreement for the development of a $260-million ICT enclave which will become the technology hub of the sub-region and create in excess of 5,000 direct jobs.
According to a Radio Ghana report, President Mahama would hold discussions with the President of Mauritius, Dr (Mrs) Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, and the Prime Minister, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, and later grant audience to the Chief Justice, Mr Kheshoe Parsad Matadeen, and the Leader of the opposition, Paul Raymond Bérenger.
President Mahama will address a business forum tomorrow and on Wednesday inaugurate a new private university - The African Leadership College – built by a Ghanaian.
Prime Minister Jugnauth will host President Mahama at a banquet tomorrow, while President Gurib-Fakim will host a lunch in his honour tomorrow.
Accompanying the President are the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Ekwow Spio Garbrah; the Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane-Boamah, and a Minister of State at the Presidency, Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah.
