She reiterated that Ghana’s reputation for peace and stability must be protected, stressing that the EC is duty-bound to ensure that the upcoming elections are free, fair, and transparent.
"The Electoral Commission must conduct itself in a manner that reflects the principles of fairness and transparency. This is necessary to maintain the peace our country is known for," Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stated.
The NDC vice-presidential candidate highlighted the need for traditional rulers and opinion leaders to speak up against any actions by the EC that may undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
She urged them to play their part in safeguarding the country’s peace, noting that their voices carry significant influence in ensuring that the electoral process remains credible.
"We only have one Ghana, and I will urge our traditional leaders to speak against any action of the Electoral Commission that seeks to undermine the credibility of the December 7 general elections. It is our collective responsibility to ensure the peace and stability of our nation," Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said.
She further encouraged the chiefs and people of the Aowin Constituency to rally behind the NDC presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, by voting for him in the December elections.

According to her, Mr. Mahama is committed to resetting the country on the path of progress, with plans to implement initiatives such as the Big Push and the 24-Hour Economy policies to create jobs and revitalize the economy.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also spoke about the NDC’s intention to establish a Women’s Development Bank, aimed at providing financial empowerment to women and promoting gender equality in economic opportunities.
She highlighted the importance of empowering women to drive national development, noting that women have a key role in building strong communities and enhancing the livelihoods of families.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s tour of the Western North Region forms part of the NDC’s broader campaign strategy to engage with citizens at the grassroots level, address their concerns, and outline the party’s vision for the future.
Her message of peace, accountability, and development has been central to her engagements, as the NDC aims to secure a mandate to govern and implement its vision for Ghana.
