Queen Mother's Foundation constructs clinic for Accra High School

The Queen Mother's Foundation of Ghana has built and fully equipped a healthcare centre for Accra High School, located in the heart of Ghana’s capital.

With a student population of over 2,400, the school had previously relied on a makeshift healthcare facility that was in a deteriorated condition. The new centre provides much-needed relief for the school community.

The facility is fully stocked with a variety of essential health items, including pharmaceuticals, hand sanitizers, waterproof foam tapes, antibacterial wet wipes, athletic tapes, bandages, pain and itch relief creams, sanitary pads, and dental care supplies.

In addition, the Queen Mother's Foundation donated stationery, furniture, and student mattresses to the school.

During the donation ceremony, the president of the foundation, Queen Mother Nana Ama Seiwaa Bonsu, an alumna of the school, shared her gratitude. She explained that her success today was due to the education and opportunities she received at the school.

"I felt it was time that the Queen Mother's Foundation Ghana also gave back to our alma mater," she said.

She further pledged that the foundation will continue its philanthropic work at other schools across the country.

The headmistress of Accra High School, Madam Evelyn Sagbil Nabia, expressed deep appreciation for the foundation’s contributions.

“We are grateful for your continuous annual donations, which have had a positive impact on teaching and learning,” she said.
