He said assisting such victims was the responsibility of all citizens and not that of the government alone.

Mr Babar made the call when the Salvation Army presented items valued at GH¢#80,000 to NADMO at its Ayawaso East office in Accra yesterday.

The items included mattresses, pillows, blankets and second-hand clothes.nadmo

The Archbishop of Salvation Army, Mr James Oduro, expressed the hope that the items would help ease the suffering of people who suffer such mishaps and also impressed on other churches and benevolent organisations to support victims of disasters.

The church had earlier donated food items and second-hand clothing to victims of the June 3 flood and fire disasters in Accra.

Mr Oduro said it was the responsibility of Christians to assist people in distress.
