Shake-up in Police command: COP Dampare takes over Research, Kofi Boakye remains at PIPS

The Inspector-General of Police has made 11 major changes in the command structure of the Ghana Police Service with COP/Dr George Akuffo Dampare, the Director-General/Operations now the Director-General/Research and Planning.
The reshuffle which comes in the wake of an escalation of crime in the country sees COP/Christian Tetteh Yohunu, the Director-General/Special Duties taking up the role of Director-General/Police Intelligence.
Meanwhile, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye remains the Director of the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIS) Bureau where he has been for the last five months.
A total of 11 changes were announced by the IGP in a statement signed by ACOP David Eklu, the Director-General/Public Affairs which also impacts COP Rev David Nenyi Ampah-Benin, Central Regional Commander who becomes the Director-General/Special Duties.
