This is because where the love of God prevails there is no room for corruption, hatred, malice and other vices,” he said.

“This was contained in the New Year message from the CACI for the year 2016 which is on the theme: “Rediscover the power for impartation”.

Election year

“The year 2016 is an election year and we trust and believe the Lord God Almighty who has always watched over elections in our dear nation will once again see us through a

peaceful election, come November/December 2016,” Apostle Amoani noted.
“However, I take this opportunity to caution all political parties to be decorous in their political campaigns and to preach peace to all their followers”, he added.

Apostle Amoani said the CACI would work with all churches and religious bodies, especially the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, as well as all non-governmental organisations in the country, to stimulate tolerance and peaceful co-existence before, during and after the elections.

He said Ghana was a country endowed by God and encouraged the leaders to be God fearing and seek God in all things for his direction to be able to continue to enjoy the peace the nation has.

Preach peace
Apostle Amoani said in as much as the church and all other religious bodies pledged their support, prayers and commitment to use the pulpit to preach and teach their members on the upcoming general election, “I also encourage politicians to desist from name calling and, insults and tagging pastors and religious leaders with political parties when they try to caution them.

“Pastors and religious leaders serve as gate keepers for every country, as stated in 2 Kings 7:10-11, and should not be ridiculed and tagged when they comment on national issues,” he stated.

He extended happy new year wishes to President John Dramani Mahama, cabinet members, ministers, Members of Parliament, the judiciary, the security services and the christian community.

“My prayer is that the year will usher our dear nation into God’s unmerited favour in our quest to build a better society, Apostle Amoani added.
