Societe Generale Ghana engages Chinese business concerns
Societe Generale, Ghana, one of the leading international banks in Ghana, has unveiled a desk which is fully dedicated to Chinese in the country.

A business breakfast has been held in Accra that attracted more than 40 major Chinese corporations with 80 guests with the objective to enhance the bank’s relationship with the Chinese community.
It was also to cater for the needs of Chinese investors with the latest economic and policy development for Ghana, as well as practice the slogan of the Societe Generale Group, “Accompanying the business development of Chinese companies in Africa”.
Ghana first
Addressing the gathering the Managing Director of Societe Generale Ghana, Mr. Gilbert Hie, said Ghana was one of the first Societe Generale subsidiaries in Africa to create a Chinese desk dedicated to business development, saying that was highly appreciated, both by the Chinese community and the Societe Generale Group”.
Mr. Hie explained the reason for the creation of the Chinese desk.
The Head of Research of Databank, Ms Doris Ahita, made a presentation on the economic review of the year as well as the economic forecast for 2015.
She also presented an analysis on the regulations and trends for the foreign exchange market.
The Head of China- Africa Business Development for Societe Generale Group, Ms Shujue Cai, who flew from Paris for the event, elaborated on the introduction of the Societe Generale Group as well as all services dedicated to Chinese businesses.

“Indeed, the general aim of the Societe Generale Group is to sustain all Chinese groups established in Africa by virtue of their strong expertise and global network. The extension of relations with Chinese corporations in all other African subsidiaries within a year is already in place, in order to create better synergy and cooperation,” he said.
The President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Ghana, Mr Feng Nian, encouraged the efforts of the bank, and also made suggestions to the Bank regarding means of enhancing relationships with Chinese companies.
He also stressed the need to support Chinese companies with their business investments in Ghana.
