SSNIT sacks MIS General Manager Caleb Afaglo over 'fake' degrees
The Board of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), has sacked the General Manager in charge of Management Information Systems (MIS), Caleb Afaglo, for securing a job at the Trust with fake degrees.
Dr. Afaglo was initially under interdiction.

SSNIT in a statement on Wednesday evening said “evidence made available to the Trust indicates that the University degrees presented by Afaglo to secure his employment at the Trust are fake.”
The statement also said the “Trust will collaborate with the Economic and Organized Crimes Office (EOCO) to ensure that those suspected of breaches of the Law in respect of the OBS contract are dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land.”
The Board arrived at the decision to sack the interdicted GM of MIS after a meeting on Wednesday said the decision takes immediate effect.

"That Dr. Caleb Afaglo, the General Manager, MIS of the Trust be relieved of his position with immediate effect. He is currently on interdiction. Evidence made available to the Trust indicates that the University degrees presented by Dr. Afaglo to secure his employment at the Trust are fake."

"SSNIT expects the names of people associated with the I.T. (OBS) contracts to be released in the near future.
"The Board and Management of SSNIT want to state that they will publish the findings of the PricewaterhouseCoopers as promised at their recent press conference," the statement signed by Victoria Abaidoo, Corporate Affairs Manager of SSNIT said.

Afaglo was iemployed as the GM of MIS in 2015. Prior to his appointment at SSNIT, he had worked as IT consultant for the Trust, National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), and at MTN Ghana and Action Chapel International as the Data Services Supervising Engineer.
He had also served as the head of IT department at SIMNET GHANA and Dominion University. He was also a consultant at GLICO Insurance.
He was allegedly sacked in the three organisations for presenting fake documents, the anti-graft agency has said.
The authorities at the Dominion University was said to have found out about the fake documents after they applied for an accreditation from the National Accreditation Board.
