Michael Opare Bekoe, a 20-year-old first year student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), who is suspected to have murdered a female student of the University last Tuesday night, and fled to the Eastern Region, has been arrested and is in the police custody in Cape Coast.
The police said he would be put before court soon. The Central Regional Police Crime Officer, Superintendent Beatrice Amoako who disclosed this to the GNA, at Cape Coast on Friday, said Bekoe, who was brought down on Thursday evening, has allegedly confessed in his caution statement.

The deceased, Miss Anita Adjei Boafo, a first-year business management student, who was described as a former girl friend of the suspect, was found stabbed to death in her room at the New Hall of the UCC on Wednesday morning by her room mates, when they returned to the hall after studying outside on Tuesday.
Superintendent Amoako said Bekoe, rented a room at the Mudek hotel at Abura, a suburb of Cape Coast and attempted to hang himself with a shoe lace, and when that failed, he fled to Akuapem-Mampong, where he was admitted to the Tetteh-Quarshie Memorial Hospital.
