Upon reaching an obscure place at Santa Maria, Blay and Ankrah purportedly pulled a kitchen knife from their bag and stabbed the taxi driver (identity unknown).
The two suspects left the bleeding taxi driver on the ground and fled with his blue and yellow Nissan cab.
Sale of taxicab
Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Adabraka District Police Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ebenezer Nketia, said Blay was arrested at his hideout in Accra in November, 2013.
He was sent to the Accra Fast Track High Court, where he had been on remand for close to four months.
Mr Nketia said Ankrah was arrested by the police after he was spotted at Adabraka Sahara in Accra.
Until his arrest, Ankrah had been hiding for about six months.

According to DSP Nketia, police investigations revealed that the Nissan cab was sold to Abu Mohammed, a resident of Asamankese in the Eastern Region, at GH¢3,000.
The taxicab has since been retrieved and parked at the Adabraka Police Station.
Mr Nketia, however, appealed to the public to help the police trace the owner of the taxicab and the driver.
He said Ankrah would also be arraigned as soon as the police finished their investigations.
