Accra: Two jailed 17 years each for robbing victims with scissors at Agbazo

The Amasaman Circuit Court has sentenced two men to 17 years in prison each for robbing two victims with a pair of scissors at Agbazo near Golden Exotic Farm in Accra.

Lawrence Fumato, 28, also known as Rasta, and Daniel Dzoka, 20, alias Alkaline, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery under Sections 23(1) and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The convicts attacked their victims on November 12, 2025, and stole a Royal 150 motorbike, a Samsung mobile phone, a Tecno Spark 8 phone, an itel keypad phone, and GH¢4,000 in cash.

Police, acting on intelligence, arrested the suspects at Agbazo on November 17, 2025.

They were arraigned before the Amasaman Circuit Court on November 27, where they pleaded guilty to all the charges.

The court sentenced both men to 17 years imprisonment each.

The police in a statement dated November 29, 2025, praised the community for the support and urged residents to report criminal activities via emergency numbers 18555 or 191.
