Universal Motor brings Russia vehicles onto market

Auto dealers Universal Motors Limited have introduced vehicles manufactured in Russia onto the Ghanaian market.

The range of vehicles include Gorky Automobile (GAZ), commercial and special vehicles, Ulyyonvsk Automobile (UAZ), SUVs, Kama River Complex (KAMAZ ) and heavy duty trucks.

At a Russian Automotive Day celebration in Accra, the Chief Specialist in Developing (Africa Region) of the GAZ Group said their vehicles and the other Russian vehicles were among the best in the world, adding that they were working hard to capture the African market.

He explained that their partnership with Universal Motors was to expand their business in Ghana and other African countries.

He stated that they had been manufacturing high quality and robust vehicles, and that the company had shipped over 52,000 vehicles to Africa.

Representatives of the other manufacturing companies were the Regional Director of KAMAZ, Mr Kirill Cherniltsev, and the Regional Leader of Africa, UAZ, Mr Llya Shulikov. They  said they had made service stations available for all their vehicles and parts.

Ghana’s auto market is dominated by Japanese, Korean, German and American-made cars.
