Virtual learning programme will stay ­- GES

The virtual learning programme introduced by the government on national television for basic and second cycle school students has come to stay, the Chairman of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Council, Mr Michael Nsowah, has said.

According to him, the programme, which would soon have contents for children at the kindergarten to the junior high school (JHS) level, would remain when schools re-open after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was brought under control.

“The virtual learning initiative is something that would be permanent and part of the educational system to give Ghanaian children more learning options apart from classroom activities.

They can also take advantage of it when they are at home during the weekend,” Mr Nsowah told the Junior Graphic.

Children can access the programme through electronic or digital devices such as computers  or the Internet.
