The United Nations Spouses Association of Ghana (UNSAG) provided the centre with recreational materials such as a flat-screen television set, toys, reading books, leaflets and furniture specifically designed for children at a cost of GH¢8,000.

Addressing a short ceremony at the hospital, the President of the association, Madam Shianne Lachman Sing, said UNSAG decided to partner the hospital to make the pediatric ward a comfortable place for sick children.

She said members of the association had adopted Ghana as a second home, since they had been in the country for some years.

UNSAG, she said, was hopeful that the centre would be an ideal nurturing environment where sick children could play and learn while recovering from their illnesses.

The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Kwame Anim-Boamah, was appreciative of the support, which, to him, was timely because the children needed such a facility to recuperate.
