Adwoa beats Oquaye Jr to retain Dome Kwabenya NPP seat

The incumbent Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo has defeated Mike Oquaye Jnr in the parliamentary primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Adwoa Safo beat Oquaye Jnr by 8 votes.
Shee got 496 votes as against Oquaye's 488.
Graphic Online's Gertrude Ankah Nyavi reported that Mike Oquaye Jnr accepted defeat and pledged to support Adwoa Safo to retain the seat.
For her part, Adwoa Safo said she will continue with her good works.

"You have again given me the mandate to continue with the good works which I have been doing all these years. I am humbled by this honour that you have bestowed me and I promise you that, I will not let you down."
She also thanked the delegates for selecting her to represent the party in the upcoming general elections.
