Ayariga supports PNC constituency elections

The 2012 presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mr Hassan Ayariga has stated that the time has come for Ghanaians to embark on a rescue mission to save the country’s economy from collapsing.

According to Mr Ayariga, Ghanaians have tested the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and could now judge for themselves what they had offered the country, adding that the country had slipped into the doldrums.

Speaking with the Daily Graphic after presenting cheques to three regional chairmen of the PNC in Accra last Thursday as his support for their constituency executive elections in their respective regions, he said if the PNC was voted into power in 2016, it would persue programmes and policies that would improve the living conditions of the people.

The beneficiary regions were Brong Ahafo, Central and Northern. The amount was, however, not disclosed.

Three other regions: the Upper East, Western and the Ashanti, would benefit from a similar donation next week. He said a PNC led government would also make an all inclusive government its priority, while maintaining transparency and accountability.

Mr Ayariga said Ghanaians have lost confidence and trust in the leadership of the NDC and the NPP, pointing out that they needed a new leadership style with dedication, trust and confidence to redeem them from the current economic challenges.

According to him, Ghana was suffering and needed all to put their shoulders to the wheel to salvage it from further slipping into the abyss.

This, he said, needed the collective efforts of dedicated citizens.

On his chances of winning the presidential slot for the 2016 election, Mr Ayariga said he had been very active in the reorganisation of the PNC after the 2012 elections and had visited the regions and some constituencies to find out the challenges of the party and the way forward and was hopeful that the executive members would give him the nod to lead the party once more.

He asked party members and sympathisers to remain united and focussed to enable them to wrest power from the NDC in the 2016 elections.

Mr Ayariga urged other aspiring presidential candidates to contribute their quota towards the reorganisation of the party.

The Central Regional Chairman of the party, Mr Kobbs Tongo, on behalf of the beneficiary regions, commended Mr Ayariga for his dedication and commitment towards the party and also called on other members and aspirants to assist the party with funding for victory in 2016.
