The party has, therefore, set in motion modalities to register its members through biometric data processing as part of preparation towards polling station, constituency, regional and national delegates conference to elect officers to steer its affairs.

Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, General Secretary of the CPP, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra, explained that the party would embark on an exercise to transfer the names of their members to a biometric database.

He stated that the updated delegates’ list would enhance accountability and transparency, ensure effective ways of collecting dues and assist other political engagement that could be done electronically.

Mr Greenstreet said the party would roll out an elections timetable for the various levels which would be crowned with a special national delegates congress to elect a flag bearer for Election 2016.

“As part of our in-house activities, the party will hold polling station, electoral area, constituency, regional and national elections within the year to elect executives to help promote the agenda of the party for the 2016 general election,” he stated.

He called on party members, especially the executives, to work towards maintaining the party structures and embark on membership drive. — GNA
