Aboagye was vibrant, visionary
Samuel Aboagye will be remembered as a vibrant, visionary and principled young leader who inspired many within the NDC and beyond, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said.
The party said his political career, though short, embodied the values of service, integrity and commitment to social justice.
“He was deeply loved by his constituents, respected by colleagues, and admired by party faithful for his humility, approachability, and tireless dedication to the cause of the NDC,” the party said in a tribute in his honour at a state funeral for victims of the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash,” it said in a tribute read by the General Secretary of the party, Fifi Kwetey.
Political career
He said Aboagye’s political journey was marked by courage, commitment and selfless service to the people.
Mr Kwetey said Aboagye first contested the Obuasi East Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC in 2020 and stood for election again in 2024.
“His leadership qualities and dedication to public service earned him an appointment by H.E. John Dramani Mahama as Deputy Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO). In this role, he served with passion and diligence until his life was tragically cut short in active service,” it said.
