Vote for Bawumia verdict to improve country's conditions — President Akufo-Addo
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that a vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Saturday is the verdict which will improve conditions in the country.
He said voting for Dr Bawumia would move the country forward while a vote for the former President would derail the progress made in the last eight years.

President Akufo-Addo, who was addressing a stakeholder engagement in Tema and Accra respectively last Monday, described the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as “a man of destiny and a man of tomorrow for us in Ghana."
He expressed confidence that having worked with him in the last 16 years, Dr Bawumia was going to make an exceptional and great President for Ghana.
The respective engagements were attended by Christian and Muslim clergy, chiefs, mechanics, seamstresses and drivers as part of the itinerary of President Akufo-Addo, who was on a three-day "thank you" tour of Accra.
Qualities of Bawumia
Highlighting the credentials of Dr Bawumia, President Akufo-Addo said Dr Bawumia has never offended him in all the 16 years he had worked with him.
He said he is an honest, very hardworking, competent and compassionate man.
He said what “we have done so far would serve as a foundation for him (Dr Bawumia) to build on to take Ghana forward.”

President Akufo-Addo, therefore, urged the electorate not to fall for the deception of a “24-hour economy”, and asked if the former President could honour that promise when he failed to even keep the lights on for 12 hours.
He said the enrolment of more students into the free SHS meant Ghana was preparing itself for the 21st century, which was about the fourth industrial revolution.
“We missed the first, second and third, and we cannot afford to miss the fourth, which is the cyber and digital revolution.
That is what is going to propel the economies of the 21st century and we are blessed in Ghana; “we have a potential leader who has a clear understanding of what we need to do to overcome the challenges of the 21st century and that is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” he stressed.

President Akufo-Addo further explained that he was mindful of his successor because he needed a successor who would continue the good work and not one who would come and mess up.
He said Ghanaians rejected Mahama after a four-year term because he was abysmal.
Prior to meeting the stakeholders in Accra, President Akufo-Addo held a similar meeting in Tema, after which he called on the Ga Mantse at his palace at Kaneshie.

The President was at the Ga Traditional Council, to thank the chiefs and people of the Ga State for their unflinching support during his eight-year term as President.
He, therefore, appealed to them to offer the same support to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during the December 7, 2024 elections.
Commendation
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, in his response, congratulated President Akufo-Addo for his impactful stewardship in the last eight years and mentioned, for instance, the James Town harbour, as well as the support given the council by the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
