"I will provide a new leadership style" : Amanor Sackey

An aspiring assembly member for the Abiriw Electoral Area, Mr Isaac Amanor Sackey says he is hoping to provide a new leadership style to enable the people rediscover a communal spirit for development if given the nod.Such leadership, he said would help the people to rely on local resources for development.

Mr Sackey who works as an assistant manager in charge of procurement in a financial Institution and doubles up as the Chief Executive Officer of Score Football Club, said he would also champion the interest of the youth to access several government interventions that were designed to build their capacity.

Others contesting him in the area are Awuku Emmanuel Apeadu, a teacher, and Elizabeth Safoa Darko, also a teacher.

The Abiriw Electoral Area is in the Akuapem North Municipal Area in the Okere Constituency

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Graphic, Mr Sackey said if voted to power, the community, would acquire a new brand image through aggressive marketing of the various tourist attractions in the community such as the waterfalls and cave stone.

“In addition the rich history of the community and unique kyerepon language will help promote the community for investments purposes. I also promise to create a website for the community within my four year term,” he said.

Mr Sackey intends to improve the standard of education in the area through the setting up of an award scheme for teachers who excelled in their duties.

He would also Institute an education fund that would assist brilliant but needy students to attain higher education.

“I will organise periodic quiz programmes to help sharpen pupil learning skills and as well, create competition among various basic schools. I will lobby for the setting up of a Secondary/Technical/Vocational School.

Sounding rather religious, Mr Sackey said with Jesus Christ at the centre of Abiriw, the community will be transformed to see development.

“In this regard I will bring the council of churches together to intercede for the progress of the community. This will eventually reduce the rate of indiscipline and social vices in the community,” he said.
