Kweku Ricketts-Hagan retains Cape Coast South constituency seat
The Central Minister, Mr Kweku Ricketts-Hagan has retained the Cape Coast South constituency seat. Ricketts-Hagan, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate polled 20,456 to beat his closest contender, lawyer Michael Arthur Dadzie of the NPP who secured 19,718 votes.
The Progressive People's Party polled 606 votes, Convention People's Party amassed 78 votes while an independent candidate had 203 votes.
It appears the electorate voted "skirt and blouse" as President Dramani Mahama lost to Nana Akuffo Addo in the constituency.
President Mahama of the governing NDC polled 19,449 votes while Nana Addo of the opposition NPP had 20,977 votes.
The CPP had 51, NDP - 15, PPP - 630, PNC - 14 with the independent candidate polling 11 votes.
Total valid votes were 41,147
A total of 327 were rejected
Registered voters - 56,588
Turn out - 73.29%
