Nduom, Akufo-Addo console President Mahama

The flag bearer of the Progressive People’s Party, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has expressed his heartfelt condolence and sympathy to President John Dramani Mahama following the death of the President’s mother, Madam Abiba Nnaba.

President Mahama has been forced to suspend his “Accounting to the People” tour of the Greater Accra Region due to the sad news. 

Madam Nnaba died on Tuesday after battling with an illness. She was reported to have died at the SSNIT Hospital in Accra.

Dr Nduom, who is also the President and Chairman of Groupe Nduom, considers mothers as "special" and described the loss as a great grief.

‘’May the Almighty console the President and his family; and may He grant his mother eternal rest”,  his statement added.

In a related story, the NPP’s flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has extended his condolence to President Mahama on the occassion of  the death of his mother.

In a tweet,  Nana Akufo-Addo said, “I extend my condolences to President J.D. Mahama and his family on the passing of his mother, Madam Abiba Nnaba. May she rest in perfect peace”.

Meanwhile, Madam Nnaba will be buried later today in line with Islamic tradition since she was an avowed Muslim.
