Sustainable development; Ghana on course

The Acting Deputy Director of the Centre for Local Government Advocacy (CLGA), Mrs Gladys Gillian N. Tetteh, has stated that the accountability of governments to citizens and the role of citizens in decision-making processes are key in ensuring sustainable development.

Launching the Public Policy Advocacy & Social Accountability (PPASA) Project at the Suhum Municipal Assembly, Mrs Tetteh said: “Governments, development partners, civil society and other actors, including the private sector, are increasingly recognising the importance of various levels of accountability to achieve sustainable development and there are now significant funds flowing into initiatives that strengthen transparent and accountable governance.”

She has, therefore, expressed her gratitude to the French Government for providing support for the deepening of social accountability in Ghana.
