Appiah Maccarthy signs two-year contract extension with Ashantigold
Premier League club, Ashantigold has announced a two-year contract extension for midfielder Appiah Maccarthy.
Maccarthy’s new contract would keep him at the club until July 2022 having spent four seasons with the Miners.
The former Asokwa Deportivo’s player contract extension comes as a major boost for the team as they look to challenge for the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Announcing the contract on the club’s website, Ashantigold said “Midfield sensation Appiah Maccarthy has renewed his contract for two years”.
“The player who joined from Asokwa Deportivo in the 2016/2017 season has spent 4 seasons with the club. This new agreement will see him spend two more years with the club, until July 2022,” the statement added.
Maccarthy will be looking forward to make a significant impact at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium when the new season commences.
The 24-year-old played nine games for Ashantigold during the 2019-2020 league season after recovering from an injury which kept him on the sidelines for close to two months.
