Ashgold face Chelsea test tomorrow

League leaders, Ashantigold, will look forward to extending their lead tomorrow when they travel to face fellow title chasers, Berekum Chelsea, at the Golden City Park.

With title hopefuls, Aduana Stars, also bent on overtaking them, Ashantigold face a strong test of maintaining their position and only a win can secure that ambition.

Chelsea, on the other hand, will be poised to close the eight-point gap between them by causing an upset to frustrate the ‘soccer miners in their first title bid since 1996.

A fierce duel between Chelsea players such as Kofi Owusu and, Stephen Baffour, on one hand and Mohammed Yakubu, Bernard Morrison and Lawrence Lartey of Ashantigold on the other will be the real attraction on the day.

Aduana Stars also face a tough challenge against Heart of Lions at the Kpando Park in a must-win match for both sides.

Lions, who are relegation threatened, know only a win can salvage their bid to stay in the First Capital Plus Premier League.

In other matches, Medeama will battle it out with Accra Hearts of Oak at the Tarkwa T&A Park as the fight to avoid relegation intensifies. Defending Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko are tipped to beat B.A. United at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, and third-placed Inter Allies clash with Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman.

Sensational West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) will hope to continue their fine form when they travel to face relegation-threatened Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium; Bechem United play Wa All Stars at Bechem and Sekondi Hasaacas travel to Obuasi to play struggling New Edubiase United.
