Awutu Beraku wins MP’s gala

Awutu Beraku was last Sunday adjudged overall winners of a Peace Gala organised by the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya Constituency, Hanna Serwaa Tetteh.

For their prize, Awutu Beraku took home a trophy, three footballs and GH¢500 cash after beating Bontrase by a lone goal in the grand finale at the Awutu D/A school park.  Awutu Bontrase, who placed second, received three footballs and GH¢300 cash.

Ayensuako also received GH¢150  cash and three footballs.

The tournament, dubbed ‘Hanna Tetteh Peace Gala’, brought together 10 area teams from communities such as Senya Beraku, Awutu Beraku, Ahentia, Bontrase and Obrachire. The rest were Nyarkokwaa, Ayensuako, Ofadaa/Fianko, Bawjiase, as well as Jeikrodua/Papase. 

The  theme for the competition was: ‘Building Peace, Showcasing Talents’ and it provided the opportunity to showcase the players’ individual talents in football and help to promote peace among the youth ahead of the December polls.

 Mrs Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, the coordinator of the gala, said the tournament had the objective to promote peace among the youth who were key players in the electioneering.
