GH¢40,000 for MTN FA Cup winner

Organisers of the highly-publicised MTN FA Cup competition yesterday announced the prizes at stake for the winners and runners-up as Bechem United and Okwawu United gear up for the final at the new Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.

According to the chairman of the FA Cup Committee (FACC), Mr Kurt E. S. Okraku, the winner will take home a whopping GH¢40,000 cash, 25 gold medals, 25 per cent of the gate proceeds, GH¢1,000 worth of MTN credit and souvenirs, alongside the magnificent trophy at stake.

The runners-up will also walk away with GH₵15,000, 25 silver medals, 25 per cent of gate proceeds, as well as GH¢1,000 worth of MTN credit.

Mr Okiaku also noted that the pre-match press conference would come off today at the media centre of the stadium at 12 p.m.

A curtain-raiser between Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies to decide the winner of this year’s National Women’s League champion will precede the final which kicks off at 6.30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has provided a 30-seater bus for reporters from the various media houses to the venue on Sunday.

The bus, which will be stationed at the GFA Secretariat in Accra, will leave for Cape Coast at 9a.m.

Reporters who wish to join the bus should take note and report at the secretariat by 8:30 a.m.
