Ghana retain world ranking

Ghana retained her 24th position while Mauritania made the biggest rise in world football’s latest world rankings.

Mauritania moved up 21 places to break into the top 50 on the continent, sitting in 40th position on the world list.

Their victory over Senegal in a two-legged qualifier for the African Nations Championship has helped them rise to 151st position in the world.

There are very little changes in Africa’s top 10 as well as world’s top 10

FIFA's next rankings will decide the seedings for the African play-offs for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Top 10 in Africa in that order: Ivory Coast (18 in the world), Ghana (24), Mali (32), Algeria (34), Nigeria (35), Cape Verde Islands (36), Burkina Faso (48), Cameroun (51),  Tunisia (53) and Zambia (60).

Spain lead in the world with Germany, Colombia, Argentina, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Brazil and Belgium following in that order for the top 10.
