Lawson, the current IBF Continental Africa Welterweight champion, told GNA Sports he was in the best shape of his life to win the title.

“This is an opportunity for me to take a step towards a world title and I am not prepared to let it go without making any meaningful impact.

“That is why I want an early knock-out to send a clear message to other boxers in my weight category,” he said.

Admitting to knowing very little about his opponent, Lawson claimed his trainers have toughened him up for the night.

Also featuring on the bill are Manyo Plange and Joshua Barnor who will fight for the National Superbantamweight title, with Duke Micah and Gally Kudjoe fighting in an eight-round national bantamweight contest.

Ofei Dodoo and Moses Dodzi will also fight in an eight-round lightweight contest, while Prince Dzanie takes on Emmanuel Laryea in an eight-round bantamweight contest.

Middleweights Ahmed Sasraku and Abubakar Sadique will engage in an eight-round contest to complete the six-bout bill put together by Enus Promotions and Box Office Sports Promotions.
