Mahatma signs for Sogndal

Mahatma OtooHearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo yesterday ended speculations about his future  when he signed for Norwegian top-flight side Sogndal.

The 20-year-old signed a three-year deal for the Sogn og Fjordane-based side for an undisclosed fee.

Otoo turned to the Norwegian side Tippeligaen after he snubbed Club Brugge, which insisted the youngster go through trials before  they handed him a deal.

Last season's Ghana Premier League top scorer with 20 goals agreed personal terms after Hearts and Sogndal reached a deal.

But there is an aspect of his paperwork to be completed to finalise his move.

Sogndal officials are hoping the Ghana international will be cleared before their next league match against Molde on Saturday.

"I am really happy to be in Sogndal and to join the club. I really appreciate the way the club presented (sic) when they came to Ghana," Otoo told the club's website.

"The interaction with Havard and  Eric made me feel very welcome and confident in my decision."

Sogndal are ninth on the Norwegian top-flight table after 18 rounds of matches.
