Medeama draw at Sekondi
Ghana’s representatives in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, Meadema FC, yesterday failed to redeem their vow to massacre visiting MO Bejaia of Algeria in their CAF Confederation Cup group game at the Sekondi Stadium at Essipon as they were held to a goalless draw.
The Tarkwa- based side could have made minced meat of the visitors but messed up over five glorious chances with their lead striker Kwame Boahene emerging the worse culprit to the displeasure of their fans.
Indeed as many as 11 corners went unutilised leaving them with only a point in two matches.
Midfielder Malik Akowuah and the backline of Meadema proved very strong making it difficult for the visitors from the blast of the whistle of south Africa referee Daniel Zer Bennett. However, the lack of concentration on the part of the homesters attackers robbed them of the much needed goals.
On crucial occasions in the second half Medeama’s Bismark Oppong, Abass Mohammed, Samuel Bio and substitute Enoch Atta Agyei took turns to shoot wide with only goalkeeper Rahman Chansedine Sadiq in sight.
