Appiah settles on Tanko - Olele, Tornado on board

It has now been confirmed that a former assistant coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun, Ibrahim Tanko, will be Coach Kwasi Appiah’s main assistant during his second stint with the Black Stars.

This was the fallout of a proposal the new Black Stars coach submitted to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) last Tuesday.

The United States have now confirmed an international friendly with Ghana in July in preparation for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup which takes place across the United States from July 6-21.

Former Egypt coach Hassan Shehata claims he was approached by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take over the recently vacant Black Stars post.

The Ghana job has since been handed to Kwasi Appiah who began his official duties on May 1 but Shehata in an interview with Kingfut.com said the handlers of the Ghana national team as well as Nigeria approached him about taking over but the negotiations broke down.

Nanevie donates ping-pong equipment to GTTF

Ghana's table tennis icon, Courage Nanevie, has presented a quantity of tennis equipment to the Ghana Table Tennis Federation (GTTF).

The items, worth thousands of cedis, include a robot machine, a set of 100 balls for multi balls training, four packs of three-star zhuxafa balls, two cans of water based glue, a modern random balls picker, a multi ball pan and a dozen of batteries to operate the robot machine.

GTF supports regional bodies

The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) has distributed assorted protective equipment to the various regional associations to help in the development of the sport across the country.

Equipment such as hand, chin, fore-arm and trunk protectors, as well as head gear were donated to nine regional executive members at a short ceremony held at the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) secretariat in Accra.
