3rd Ghana’s Fastest Human launched
The third edition of the Surfline Ghana's Fastest Human (GFH) U-18 race will climax in Kumasi on September 12 with the fastest teenagers from across the nation competing for cash prizes at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The athletics talent hunt, which seeks to unearth budding sprinters for the nation was launched last Tuesday at the Accra Stadium with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Mustapha Ahmed, lauding the organisers for their initiative to discover athletes for the national team.

The finals of the competition will be preceded by two heats which will involve five of the fastest second cycle students drawn from the 10 regions of the country on July 25 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra and on August 22 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
"The reward system of Surfline Ghana's Fastest Human will not only motivate the athletes but also their coaches and schools," Dr Ahmed said in an address read on behalf of the Vice President of Ghana, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
The founder of the GFH, Reks Brobby, unveiled Surfline as the new headline and clothing sponsor of the competition and announced also that the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) would provide the prize-money for the competition.
The competition is open to only Ghanaians who will compete in four age categories — Under-10, Under- 13, Under-18, and Seniors 18 and Above.
A prize of GH¢2,000 will go to the overall winner of the U-18 event, GH¢1,000 for the winning contestant’s physical education instructor and GH¢1,000 for the Physical Education department of the winning contestant’s school.
