Adjin-Tettey advises athletes to train hard
Celebrated athletics coach, Nii Ayikai Adjin-Tettey, has admonished athletes in the country to keep training hard despite the advent of the coronavirus pandemic.
The former national athlete, popularly referred to as Coach Adjin Tettey, contended that even at his old age he regularly took a walk in his community and also did regular indoor training.

“Even at my age, I still train and jog and exercise, so they should not rest on their oars,” he stated.

He charged athletes to seek the face of the Lord in their endeavours and remain steadfast in their zeal to be on top of the world in their various disciplines.
Mr Adjin-Tettey made the remarks when the leadership of the Past Athletes Association of Ghana (PAAG) visited him to mark his 93rd birthday at his residence at Dansoman in Accra last Sunday.

The president of the PAAG, Andrew Agbo-Kitcher, who led the group, extolled the quality leadership Coach Adjin Tettey brought to bear on athletes in the country.
“We know and acknowledge your tremendous contributions to athletics and other sporting disciplines in this country,” he noted.
Tribute
Mr Agbo-Kitcher wished him a happy birthday and expressed the gratitude of both past and present athletes to Coach Adjin Tettey for moulding them into national heroes and heroines in the sporting field.
Mr Adjin-Tettey later presented his autobiography booklet which captured his life and career in Ghana athletics and sports to the group.
The PAAG leadership comprised Agbo-Kitcher, Mary Tetteh, Fritz Ekuban, Akushie Quaye and Stella Lokko.
