Agyeman, Aggreh win Northern GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human

Two of the defending champions of the Northern regional GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human, Barnabas Aggreh and Kate Agyeman, successfully defended their titles during the 2020 edition at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale last Saturday.

The talent hunt competition, which attracted hundreds of sprinters across the northern sector of the country, saw the swift Barnabas outpacing his competitors to cross the 100m finish line with a time of 10.05 seconds.

His challengers, Ansah Sarfo and Saminu Abdul-Rashid followed in that order with a time of 10.20 and 10.43 seconds, respectively.

Agyeman also sprinted to the finish line in a spectacular fashion with a time of 11.52 seconds, followed by Rafiatu Nuhu who clocked 11.70 seconds and Barikisu Issahaku who also finished third with a time of 11.73 seconds.

Under-18 category

Dennis Amponsah swept the Boys Under-18 category with a time of 10.31 followed by Mohammed S. Mhammed who clocked 10.68 seconds and Tanko Basit, who finished with a time of 10.80 seconds. Dufei Agness won the ladies category with a time of 12.34 seconds followed by Alhassan Sahadatu and Issah Ayishetu with a time of 12.84 seconds and 13.30 seconds, respectively.

In the Boys Under-15 race, Alhassan Kamal Deen scooped the first prize with a time of 12.33 seconds followed by Richard Akugre; 12.45 seconds and Nicholas Samare; 12.53 seconds while in the ladies category, Angela Gadenkyina crossed first with a time of 12.83 seconds followed by Mary Zong; 12.91 seconds and Lamisi Ayelinga; 13.14 seconds.
