All set for launch of book on Pro. Football in Ghana

A well-researched book on sports, detailing the myths, perceptions and realities of professional football in Ghana is due to be launched in Accra tomorrow, March 16.

The book, authored by veteran football administrator, Major Yaw Larson (retd), and titled “Professionalism in Ghana Football: The Myth, Perception and Reality”, will be launched at the British Council Auditorium at 4.30 p.m.

The launch will be under the distinguished chairmanship of Togbe Afede XIV, the Paramount Chief of Asogli Traditional Area, with Sir Sam Jonah as the Special Guest of Honour.

Other special guests to grace the function are His Excellencies, former Presidents JJ Rawlings and JA Kufuor, and the Vice-President of the Republic, Mr Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur.

The book, catalogued into 17 chapters, deals with all aspects of Ghana football from the colonial era of amateurism to the present when professionalism has taken over.

And the launcher on the day will be the Lepowura, Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula, a former chairman of the Ghana Football Association.
