The Betway Talent Search aims to attract 500 football hopefuls, of which 24 will be selected by our panel of coaches and scouts.
According to Betway Ghana brand ambassador Stephen Appiah, his motivation for being part of this initiative and endorsing it stems from his desire to see grassroots football revived in Ghana and is reminiscent of how he was discovered as a footballer.
Speaking ahead of the Talent Search trials in Tamale, Mohammed Gargo, an ex-international who is part of the scouting team indicated that, "projects like these give aspiring professional footballers the opportunity to exhibit their talents and make it to the top".
The Betway Talent Search train will head to Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region on Saturday, August 11 then to the Ashanti capital of Kumasi on August 18, move to the Cape Coast on August 25 and lastly to Accra on Saturday, September 1, 2018.
A total of eight players are expected to be drafted into the four Ghana Premier League clubs (Aduana Stars, Medeama SC, Liberty Professionals and Ashgold) sponsored by Betway.
