CocoBod win Awuah Darko-Ampem Cup

The annual Nana Awuah Darko-Apem Memorial Squash championship has been held at the Accra Polo grounds with CocoBod beating Accra Polo Club in a fiercely contested final.

Organised on the theme: ‘Healthy mind in healthy body’, the well-attended competition featured Vanguard Group who also battled for supremacy in other disciplines such as draught and ludo.

It was held in memory of Nana Awuah-Darko Ampem I, a former chairman of Ghana Squash Association.

For their efforts, players and teams that excelled namely Vanguard Group comprising United Pension Trust, Vanguard Life Assurance, ICS Securities, Online Computer Solutions, City International Limited, Nkosuo Micro Finance Limited, Nationwide Mutual Health, Premium Reality, Health, Net Medical Centre  and M/G Insurance Brokers, were decorated with glittering medals, trophies and special cash prizes.

Founder of the United Pension Trustees Limited, Harold Awuah Darko Jnr, disclosed that besides playing it in honour of Nana Awuah-Darko Ampem, it formed part of a move to help develop sports in the country.
