El-wak Wings ladies win Sya International Volleyball tourney
The Elwak Wings Ladies Volleyball Club won the second edition of the Sya International Volleyball tournament which climaxed last Sunday at Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso.
They beat their counterparts from Mali, AS Commune 5, 3-2 in the final to take the trophy , medals and an disclosed cash prize.

In the first set the Ghanaian team representing Ghana at the six nation tournament lost 25-21 before taking the second set 25-23, losing the third set 25-20 and winning the last two sets with a score of 25-23 and 16-14.
Their male counterparts, the El-wak Wings mens' team however failed to win their final against LA Poste of Burkina Faso where they lost 3-0(25-17,25-20 and 25-20) to place second.
The Sya International Volleyball tournament is a special international club competition for West Africa Countries recognize of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) as a development programme to develop in the game in the region.
Countries from Nigeria, Benin, Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Ghana took part in the second edition of the competition.
Mr Edem Divine Dotse, the manager of El-Wak Wings told Graphic Online that despite the difficulties the team took part in the tournament to raise the flag of Ghana very high.
"We had challenges but we were proud to represent the country and won gold and silver," he noted.

He called for support for the team from corporate institutions and more respect towards the sport of volleyball.
The team arrived in Ghana yesterday from Burkina Faso.
