The committee, as part of the charges of misconduct and violence against Elmina Sharks, also imposed a fine of GH¢15, 000 on the club in accordance with article 39 (1) (b) of the FA’s General Regulations.

This was after the committee had satisfied itself that the evidence adduced before it supported the charges of misconduct and violence against the Bibiani Gold Stars FC and the injuries it caused to the match officials and those of Elmina Sharks.

According to a ruling signed by the Chairman of the GFA Disciplinary Committee, Prosper Harrison Addo, the fine must be paid to the GFA within 14 days upon receipt of the ruling.

It further noted that “the Division One League Board (DOL) shall decide the venue where Bibiani Gold Stars FC shall play its home fixtures for the next 10 home matches for which the club is banned with due cognisance and consideration of the location and proximity of the away teams from such venues”.

It will be recalled that Elmina Sharks called on the football authorities to annul their Week Three League match against Gold Stars played at the Bibiani park on March 20, 2016.

The match ended 1-1 but not without violence and attacks on match officials and officials of Elmina Sharks, as well as their vehicle and properties of First Digital Television.

Elmina Sharks, through their General Manager, George Wiredu, therefore, petitioned the GFA for the results to be annulled and the points awarded the club.
