Golfers thrill at Access bank tournament
The Access Bank Monthly Medal Tournament took off in grand style on Saturday with over one hundred golfers in the Greater Accra region converging at the Tema Country Golf Club to compete in the one-day 18-hole medal play tournament.
Prince Agyiri was crowned winner after pulling off a remarkable victory as he returned a net score of 66 playing off handicap 13 to beat nearest challenger, Amoah Ebo-Dacosta who returned net 70 playing off handicap 5.

Expressing his excitement for excelling over his competitors in the tournament, Prince Agyiri said, “It's a fantastic day and I'm so happy to claim this win after working hard for it.”
The Access Bank Monthly Medal tournament is the Bank’s first monthly tournament at the Tema Country Golf Club. The sponsorship forms part of the Bank’s commitment to develop sports, foster and unearth great talents as well as promote healthy lifestyles among the working class.
Presenting the trophy to the winners, the Managing Director of Access Bank, Mr. Dolapo Ogundimu expressed the Bank’s admiration to all the golfers who he said, demonstrated great sportsmanship in the tournament to ensure a successful event.
He added, "As a discipline, golf teaches valuable life lessons that many businesses continue to draw management cues from. Today, we have witnessed great passion from our golfers and most especially the spirit of perseverance. These are values we at Access Bank associate with and want to promote in sports development.”
Captain of the club, Mr. Joshua Peprah extended the golfers’ appreciation to Access Bank for partnering the Golf Club in making this tournament possible. Other winners on the day included Dr. Yaw Ani who won the Group ‘B’ category with 67 points, while Tony Domingo came second with 68 points, beating Dominic Adjapong on count-back.
Madam Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong came first in the ladies segment with 68 net while Florence Etwi-Barima placed second with 78 net.

In the Professional’s event, Vincent Torgah emerged champion with 68 net, Kwame Ligbidi placed second with 69 net, beating Emmanuel Osei on count-back.
