Graphic Inter-Dept games Saturday
The annual inter-departmental games of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) , will come off on Saturday at the El Wak stadium in Accra.

Known as the Samuel Konadu Games, it is expected to attract members of staff from various departments such as Administration, G-Pak, Nwwspapers (Editorial), Technical Services and Marketing competing in sporting events such as five-a-side football gala, tug of peace (tug of war), volleyball, lime-and-spoon race, table tennis, athletics and sack race.
The games will be preceded by a health walk by the staff along some streets of Accra and back to the El Wak stadium.
It has been named Samuel Konadu Games in honour of a member of staff who died in the line of duty on the morning of the maiden games on September 22, 2012. That maiden edition was postponed to the following year but the event has since been held annually in memory of the late employee.
Newspapers department won the 2013 edition of the games followed by G-Pak in 2014 but Newspapers bounced back strongly last year to dethrone G-Pak as defending champions ahead of this weekend’s games.
The chairman of the organising committee, Mrs Peace Gadogbe, urged all employees to turn up in their numbers at the stadium on Saturday to make the games a success.
She said the essence of the games was to encourage exercising and general fitness as well as foster stronger relationship among staff.
“It is also to bring all of us as employees together to socialise and to foster unity among us,” she noted and appealed to the various departments to organise themselves very well because this year’s games would be very competitive
