I’m not interested in Hearts or Kotoko — Godfred Saka

The quest to feature for football clubs in Europe and other parts of the world has prevented Aduana Stars right-back, Godfred Saka, from signing for either Accra Hearts of Oak or Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

According to Saka, he was rather focused on working hard with Aduana with the view of gaining much experience to land a lucrative contract abroad.

Speaking to the Graphic Sports in an interview, he noted: “I am  not interested in  joining any local side,  such as Hearts or Kotoko. I have rather signed a two-year contract extension with Aduana Stars”.

Explaining, the 2009 Premier League winner with Aduana said, “there is no chance of me playing for either of the two teams. This is because Aduana is also a big club  which has also won the Premier League before”.

Saka, 26, has been a long time target by the two most successful clubs in the country, but all moves by Hearts or Kotoko to sign the Right to Dream graduate failed to materialise.

Talking about a potential Black Stars call-up, the experienced defender admitted his disappointment at not being capped by the senior national team but said he was working hard to be recognised in future.

“I sometimes feel disappointed for not getting a call-up into the Black Stars team but I’m focused on working hard for the future,” Saka added.
