ICU are champs

Industrial and Commercial Workers Union(ICU)  emerged winners of this year’s  Trade Unions football gala held in Accra.

The competition, which is held annually, was on the theme: “Health is Wealth and was aimed at promoting healthy living and better relationship among the various groups  under the Trades Union Congress (tuc).

The event started with a 15km-health-walk from the TUC head office with about 500 participants, representing such organisations as the Ghana National Association of Teachers(GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers(NAGRAT), Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), and the Ghana Medical Association(GMA).

Mr Morgan Ayawine, Deputy General Secretary of ICU, said the event was aimed at creating the opportunity for members of the various labour organisations to interact with each other.
