Medeama SC appoints Ibrahim Tanko as new Head Coach
Ghana Premier League club Medeama Sporting Club has appointed Ibrahim Tanko as their new Head Coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The announcement was made via the club’s X account on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
"Medeama Sporting Club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Coach Ibrahim Tanko on a two-and-a-half-year contract. The UEFA A-License holder has completed the formalities and will replace Augustine Evans Adotey, who will return to his original role as Technical Director of the team," the statement read.
Tanko joins the Mauve and Yellow following his departure from Accra Lions, where he served as both coach and technical advisor.

With the UEFA A-License, Tanko brings a wealth of experience to the Tarkwa-based club, having worked in Japan’s J-League, the Bundesliga, and with national teams. He has served as an assistant coach for Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions, as well as Ghana's Black Meteors and Black Galaxies.
On Wednesday, Tanko attended the team’s training session at Akoon Community Park, and he is expected to officially take charge on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Tanko’s first match in charge will be against Legon Cities on Sunday, February 3, 2025, at the TnA Stadium.
