Minister inspects Legon Stadium
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Mahama Ayariga, yesterday inspected the sports facilities at the University of Ghana to ascertain their state for Ghana’s 2017 AFCON bid .

The University of Ghana is one of the facilities that has been earmarked for the hosting of the tournament.
The minister was conducted around by the Director of Sports of the University, Dr Bello Batigu, and the Assistant Registrar, Regina Ofori Boateng.
Some of the facilities included the 18,000 capacity University sports stadium,the Gym and the swimmimg pool.
Briefing the minister, Dr Batigu said the stadium was still not completed but work on the athlertic oval was completed with block works, lighting system and the running tracks ongoing.
He contended that the project when completed would be a source of revenue generation for the University and the state.
Mr Ayariga expressed delight at the work done so far on the project and assured the University that funds would be provided to complete it.
