Canada-based golfer Rickie Hurtubise has emerged winner of the GRIDCo Centre of the World Golf Club Championship after a strong showing at the three day tournament held in Tema.
Hurtubise posted a total score of 229 after rounds of 77, 75 and 77 to clinch the title in a competitive field. He held his nerve on the final day despite the demanding nature of the course to finish ahead of Jibril Kassim, who recorded 233, as well as Desmond Abban and Frank Torgah, who both finished on 234.

Speaking to the media after receiving his trophy in the presence of his parents, Hurtubise said he was delighted with the victory and attributed his success to consistent training and careful preparation for the championship.
The tournament, known as the GRIDCo Centre of the World Golf Club Championship, brought together professionals, scratch players and amateurs, attracting more than 100 golfers from across the country. It was sponsored by the Ghana Grid Company with support from Bel Aqua, Nester Home, Royal Senchi, Zed Multimedia and The Finder.
In the Men’s Main Division, Kingsley Okechukwu Landers emerged winner, with George Wisbon Mensah and Ackah Blay finishing second and third respectively. Gustave Godonou won the Men’s Category A, followed by Dennis Etwi Barimah and Charles Kumi.
Michael Sackitey claimed top honours in Men’s Group B ahead of Abdallah Andani and Philip Dodu Fynn, while Patrick Amoah Bekoe won Men’s Group C, finishing ahead of Yaw Asamoah and Cecil Kwatchey.
The Ladies Division was won by Catherine Fabbi, who posted an impressive 74 points to finish ahead of Hawa Brito and Naomi Teye Lartey. Letitia Amponsah Mensah claimed the Ladies Category A title, beating Floria Hurtubise and Adiatu Tiamiyu, while Patricia Adusei Poku won Ladies Group B ahead of Angelica Ayanful and Akua Afriyie Tamakloe.
In the Seniors Division, Samuel Osei Bediako, Joshua Preprah and Hellen Apau were recognised for their performances, alongside winners of several auxiliary prizes.
The Club Captain, Ruben Kwame Kordorwu, who was joined by the Akwamuhene, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, for the ceremonial tee off, expressed satisfaction with the strong turnout and thanked the sponsors, particularly GRIDCo, for their support.
